My Career So Far

I’ve been a graphic designer for 10 years, but a few years ago, I found that more and more clients were asking for web/interactive designs and I decided to take the Multimedia Design and Production Technician program at Humber College.

I was hired at Rogers Publishing as Web Producer, where I managed the content for MeetingsCanada.com and its microsites. I then moved on to work at SapientNitro as a Flash Developer, creating banner ads for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Fiat and Cigna.

Last September, I became an instructor in the Web Design and Interactive Media 3-year diploma program at Humber College, where I teach digital design classes. While teaching, I have been freelancing, creating mostly WordPress child themes, and a couple of projects that throw back to my print days. Check out my portfolio if you would like to see some of my work.

What Inspires Me

I am drawn to the organic feel and the long, slender, curving lines of Art Nouveau. I also draw inspiration from the movement of athletes and dancers, which can be translated into the elements and principles of design.

Other Stuff I Do

When I’m not in front of my computer, you can find me either playing volleyball or doing Scottish Highland dancing.
